Irene Rocchesso


Irene Rocchesso is a PhD candidate at the Chair for Law and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Tübingen. Her research explores the intersection of law, ethics, and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on the legal implications of digital neurotechnologies.

She earned her Master’s degree in Law from the University of Trento, graduating with top honors after completing an exchange semester at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Her final thesis, “Artificial Intelligence and Neurotechnology: The Legal Challenges of the New Frontiers of Human-Machine Symbiosis,” received the 13th Gelmi Graduation Prize, awarded by Bosch Italia. Building on her commitment to the field, Irene is also completing a Master’s program in Digital Law at the University of Bologna, further deepening her expertise in the regulation and governance of new technologies.

Before joining the Chair for Law and Artificial Intelligence, she worked as a trainee lawyer at the Legal Department of Veneto Region in Italy.
